Haley won the Biology Department's Outstanding Teaching Assistant award for her work in Field Ecology and Herpetology!

Vicki Thill, M.S.

Vicki stunned the crowd with the data she collected over her M.S. career (or was that the black widow venom?) and defended her thesis in December 2019.

Haley presented her first oral talk and won the SSAR Henri Seibert student award!

Jess won the Graduate Student Association's Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award!

(2019)

Haley won 3rd in the M.S. division of UNR's 3-Minute Thesis competition, keeping the EvolDoers win streak going 5 years strong!

Gareth Blakemore, M.S.

Gareth defended a staggering thesis to a crowded auditorium of colleagues, friends, and family in August of 2018.

JMIH 2018

While Gareth was busy prepping for his defense, the rest of the gang gallivanted off to the Joint Meeting of Ichthyology and Herpetology where Vicki, Haley, Erica, and Josh presented posters and Jess and Robert gave presentations during the keynote seminar celebrating the Butch Brodie's research legacy.

The lab enjoyed great talks, great lakes, roller coasters and Haley even won the SSAR Victor Hutchinson Student Poster Award!

3 Minute Thesis (2018)

Vicki placed second in the Master's section of UNR's 3MT and Robert again placed first in the Doctoral section as well as winning People's Choice Award!
