Evolution, Ecology, & Conservation Biology of Reptiles & Amphibians
UNR Biology
EECB
We are interested in a broad array of evolutionary, ecological, and conservation topics, primarily in local reptiles and amphibians.  We are an integrative group that considers questions at various hierarchical scales and across traditional disciplines, from simple molecular changes in proteins, to aspects of organ physiology, to whole animal function or behavior, to changes in community composition and structure, to deep-level patterns of biogeography and macroevolution.

Our research program often combines traditional field and museum studies (i.e. collection of vouchers and associated data in the wild and/or study of museum specimens) with emerging molecular genetic techniques (i.e. DNA sequence data, DNA fragment data, gene expression data) or other novel approaches (e.g. geometric morphometrics, spectrophotometry, etc.
) to address fundamental questions in these vertebrate systems.
